RENOVATION WITH ENERGY UPGRADE
RENOVATION AND ENERGY UPGRADE WITH PARTICIPATION IN THE PROGRAM “Saving energy at home”. 2013 – 2015.
Energy upgrading interventions are the following:
1.Addition of external insulation to the outer walls and internal suspended ceilings for the penthouse terrace of the upper floor.
- Change of wooden frames with single glazing to aluminum frames with double energy saving crystal.
- After gaining approval from other tenants, the flat gained heating autonomy by being detached from the existing outdated central heating system. The heating or cooling down of each room is controlled in each room by fan coils on the roof and a heat pump.
- Installing solar panels on the roof for hot water production.
The interventions to spatial functioning are the following:
Extension of the reception and everyday sitting areas in order to gain access to the balcony. Configuration of the kitchen layout in direct contact with everyday sitting room at the dark entry of the apartment and dining spot. The existing kitchen area is transformed to a guest room.
Proposed construction and decorative interventions.
To limit extra damage on the walls during construction of plumbing and electrical installations, false “beams” that include the shutters of windows are proposed.
The small, decorative fireplace is an element that creates a warm and cozy atmosphere in the room.
In the kitchen, pansies decorate the “window box”, as purple is the favorite color of the lady of the house.
All furniture and decorative elements of the main areas, following minor adjustments and renewal are reused in new positions. In order to save space, the large bed, narrows from 2.20 m to 1.60 m. Also, all existing furniture pieces of the “imperial” set that were previously scattered over other spaces, are combined, with an existing wooden wardrobe and a trifoliate closet. Copies of Leonardo da Vinci designs and drawings are proposed to decorate the walls.
